Jeff Robinson's Sustainable Forest

In lieu of flowers, many joined in to help restore legally protected, biodiverse native forests in Australia in Jeff's honour, to commemorate his life's work and create a legacy that grows over time.

"Jeff Robinson's Sustainable Forest" is planted at Ledcourt, located on Jardwadjali & Djabwurung Country, adjacent to the northern part of the Grampians National Park in Victoria. His memorial forest is possible thanks to Greenfleet.  The enormity of the forest is thanks to each and every contribution from far and wide.

On Thursday 25 July, a choir of Jeff's dearest planted 1000 native trees across 4 hectares. The species they planted included Australian Blackwood (Acacia melnoxylon), Sweet Bursaria (Bursaria spinosa), and Yellow Box (Eucalyptus melliodora); one of multiple eucalypt species planted to help form the forest canopy.

The planting day was about connection, forging new friendships and reigniting old ones, while connecting to the land of his legacy.

This forest if for his family and for their generations to come.  Thank you to the Robinson's for sharing this with us all.

Each year, we will place the update of the growth and progress of the biodiversity brought back to the land and region.

About Jeff Robinson's Sustainable Forest

Jeff Robinson's Sustainable Forest is planted at a site called Ledcourt in Central Victoria.

Located on the lands of the Jardwadjali & Djabwurung people, the site adjoins the Grampians National Park and Mount William Creek, which is home to platypus, kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, emus and many other native wildlife species.

Koala populations can occur in the Grampians. However, there have been none near Ledcourt for many years due to land clearing, causing the reduction in their habitat and food trees. Greenfleet will work to restore the cleared areas with native species preferred by these iconic animals and strengthen the existing ecosystems.

Jeff's forest will enhance the critical work completed on this property and leave a long-lasting legacy.

About Greenfleet

Greenfleet has been protecting our climate by restoring native forests for over 25 years. They've planted over 10.8 million trees and created more than 550 native forests across Australia and New Zealand.

Their trees are legally protected for 100 years, so together we're making a real, long term difference in tackling the climate crisis.

Greenfleet is an environmental not-for-profit organisation that has delivered climate action for over 25 years.

They plant native, biodiverse forests in Australia and New Zealand to restore nature and capture carbon emissions on behalf of their supporters. Protected for up to 100 years, these forests help fight the impacts of climate change, improve soil and water quality, and restore habitat for native wildlife, including many endangered species.

Partnerships with local communities and Traditional Owners support broad benefits for the country and communities in which we live and work.
