Jeff Robinson

Jeff Robinson made huge personal and professional contributions to sustainability in the built environment before his untimely death in April 2024.

He worked tirelessly across the building industry throughout his career to create a better world for current and future generations, local communities, industry groups and the biodiversity of life. He was an unrelenting advocate for new and better ways to create built environments that used resources wisely, were architecturally inspiring, celebrated heritage, responded to their place, and made us happier and healthier.

Jeff loved to push the envelope of sustainable design and his passion for leadership and innovation in this space was infectious. He applied his piercing intellect, collaborative instinct and deep respect for everyone's contribution to every project and every industry endeavour.

He brought us together to think in new ways, building trust across disciplinary boundaries, using his talent for storytelling to demystify and simplify the complex and bringing better outcomes within reach.

Jeff painted a compelling picture of a future that inspired, he drew us maps of how to get there and showed unwavering confidence in our capability for success.

He was renowned for asking the first question, the one that illuminated the pathway on the journey of leadership. That gift lives on in everything the First Question Society does.
