The First Question Society ("FQS", "we", "us") is a volunteer-run group continuing Jeff Robinson's legacy of sustainability leadership. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through our website, firstquestionsociety.org, most importantly through our newsletter sign-up.
When you subscribe to our updates, we collect only two things: your name and your email address. We don't collect any other personal information through our website.
We collect this information directly from you, when you voluntarily enter it into the "Keep Me Informed" sign-up form on our homepage.
We use your name and email address for one purpose only: to send you occasional updates about FQS events, the Jeff Robinson Memorial Fund for Sustainability Leadership, and related news. We won't use it for anything else, and we won't sell or rent it to anyone.
We don't share, sell or disclose your name or email address to any third party. Your details are kept by our volunteer committee and used solely to send you FQS updates.
We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We only keep your information for as long as we need it to send you updates, or until you ask us to remove it.
You can ask to be removed from our updates list at any time by emailing us at thefirstquestionsociety@gmail.com with "unsubscribe" in the subject line. We'll action your request within a reasonable time, in line with the Spam Act 2003.
You're welcome to ask us at any time what information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, or to ask us to delete it entirely. Just email us at the address above and we'll sort it out.
If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, please contact us first at thefirstquestionsociety@gmail.com so we can try to resolve it. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date at the top.
Questions about this policy or your information can be sent to thefirstquestionsociety@gmail.com.
